Hospital Services

All GP's have visiting rights to the South Gippsland Hospital. The hospital has 16 acute care beds, as well as an operating theatre & delivery suite. In addition it has a 3 bed emergency / outpatients department & local radiographer. The Foster / Toora Medical Centre patient database is accessible through 3 hospital computer terminals.

There are currently 2 operating lists per week which include endoscopies, caesarian sections, general surgery, & gyneacological surgery.

            

Aged Care Facilities

Foster has a 30 bed low care residential hostel (Banksia Lodge)

Toora has a 30 bed nursing home (Promontory View Lodge)

Both facilities have a computer link to the medical centre patient database.

Community Health Centre

A Community Health Centre that hosts a range of allied health professionals including physiotherapy, massage, optometry, dietician, diabetes & asthma educator, drug & alcohol, district nurse, podiatry, myotherapy, community midwife, child health, & an award winning well women's clinic.

                                       

There are several support groups & health programs associated with the community health centre. These include:
